Wednesday Webcomic: Girls with Slingshots

Webcomic Wednesdays is a weekly feature here at Girls Read Comics Too. Each week, we like to shine a spotlight on one of the webcomics that we happen to keep up with on the interwebs.

Girls With Slingshots reminds me of some of my favorite ensemble comedies. It features a group of characters that all have their own lives that happen to intersect and feature a lot of jokes that make me snicker in public when I’m reading it on my phone. We might not see every cast member in every update, but I always get the sense that the ones that are off-panel could very well be living their own lives. It’s kind of like touching base with your friends except not really because it’s a webcomic on the internet. But you probably get what I mean.

Written by Danielle Corsetto, it can get a little serious just as easily as it can make you snicker, but I am hooked enough that it pays off in spades. Plus it features a talking cactus named McPedro. At the very least you should check it out for that.

Plus there are some seriously awesome guest strips lurking not too far back. Either way it’s an enjoyable little (okay, maybe not so little) webcomic to check in on every day.

Check it out at girlswithslingshots.com!

Are you the creator of a webcomic? Do you have a webcomic that you love and think more people should check out? Then drop us a line either here in the comments or shoot us an email! We’re always looking for new things to read and get excited about!

About Lina

A university graduate with three too many degrees and an urge to just keep moving. Not too keen to stay on the beaten path, moving is all that she feels like doing. Pieced together from a little bit of everywhere (culturally speaking) she has a love of pop culture and learning that is kind of out of control. Sometimes she acts a little bit like an insane old British lady or an eight year old on speed. Let's not get her started on the books (or soap operas or her affection for making up drinking games). Then we'd be here all day.
