I’ve never been a huge fan of Superman in general. I’ve enjoyed the previous films somewhat (Superman Returns was fun, but not a particularly memorable film, in my mind), and I quit the Smallville television series about two seasons in after I got tired of waiting for Clark to learn how to fly. Needless to say, I haven’t been too excited about Man of Steel since it was announced. And the fan backlash I’ve read and heard about how Warner Brothers was making a mistake in supposedly making a “darker and grittier” Superman film hasn’t really helped matters.
However, the trailer that went live today may have changed my mind.
